Casa Colibri del Sol is named after the enchanting hummingbirds that grace our property. These tiny creatures embody beauty, playfulness, renewal, and healing—qualities we hope every guest experiences during their stay.

The name also holds a special place in our hearts because of a personal connection. Stacee’s grandma, Georgette, was a gentle soul who loved animals, art, and gardening. In her lush garden, a little hummingbird would often visit while she watered her flowers, dancing through the gentle spray and pausing to share a moment with her. It was a transcendent experience that she joyfully shared with Stacee, and that joy has always stayed with us.

In honor of Georgette’s spirit, we’ve created Casa Colibri del Sol as a place where guests can connect with nature, each other, and themselves. We hope that when you spot a hummingbird here, it brings a smile to your face and fills your heart with the same joy and wonder that inspired our home’s name.

To ensure the privacy and security of our home, we only disclose the exact address of Casa Colibri del Sol after a booking is confirmed and payment is received. Rest assured, the general location provided on our listing is accurate—when we say the property is close to specific landmarks, we mean it! This approach helps us maintain the privacy of our much-loved home while still giving you a clear idea of its beautiful surroundings. Once your booking is confirmed, you’ll receive the full property address and all the details you need to plan your stay.

We set our arrival and departure times to ensure our home is always prepared to the highest standard for each guest’s stay. This allows our house staff the time they need to clean, refresh, and add those special touches that make Casa Colibri del Sol a welcoming retreat.

We understand that travel plans can vary, and while we do our best to accommodate requests for early check-ins or late departures, these are considered on a case-by-case basis and depend on our booking schedule. We often won’t be able to confirm availability for these requests until 1-2 days before your check-in date, as we may receive last-minute bookings.

If an early check-in or late departure isn’t possible, we’re happy to offer luggage storage so you can explore and enjoy the area without the burden of your bags. Please reach out to us in advance with any special timing needs, and we’ll do our best to make your stay as convenient and comfortable as possible.

A full cleaning is included in the cost of your stay, so there’s no need to worry about deep cleaning before you leave. However, we kindly ask that the home be left in a tidy and respectful condition to help us prepare for the next guests.

Here are a few quick and easy check-out reminders to ensure a smooth departure:

  • Please lock all doors upon check-out.
  • Place used towels in the laundry baskets provided.
  • Turn down the bed sheets on any beds that were used (no need to make the beds).
  • Load used dishes into the dishwasher and run the wash cycle (we’ll take care of putting them away).
  • Report any damage or issues so we can address them promptly.

As a token of our appreciation, please feel free to take home the provided robes and slippers as a departing gift from us.

During peak holidays like Christmas and New Year, we require a minimum stay of one week to ensure our guests can fully enjoy the festive season at Casa Colibri del Sol. These are special times of year when many families and groups seek extended stays, and this policy helps us accommodate those looking for a longer, more immersive experience.

At other times of the year, we’re pleased to offer more flexible options, including weekend getaways as short as two nights. Additionally, our home is available for hourly rental for small events, retreats, commercial photography shoots, and more, giving you the flexibility to enjoy Casa Colibri del Sol in a way that best suits your needs.

At Casa Colibri del Sol, we strive to provide a luxurious and comfortable stay with a variety of amenities:

Bedrooms: Each of our four comfortable bedrooms features 100% cotton percale and linen bedding. All bedrooms include ensuite bathrooms with heated Saltillo tiled floors, towel warmers, and bidet toilets.

Bathrooms: Enjoy a selection of luxury shampoos, hair care products, and toiletries. Our master bathroom also features a luxurious steam spa experience, complete with essential oils, robes, slippers, and 100% cotton towels.

Kitchen: Our gourmet kitchen is equipped with top-of-the-line appliances and all essential cooking items, including cooking oils, spices, and pantry staples. You’ll also find an instant hot water system, reverse osmosis mineral-enhanced water, and a Keurig coffee maker with a variety of coffee and tea selections.

Towels: We provide towels for the bath, swimming pool, and beach.

Robes & Slippers: Robes and slippers are provided for your comfort and are yours to take home as a parting gift.

Family-Friendly: We offer a highchair and up to three Pack and Play cribs upon request.

Beach Gear: Beach chairs, beach towels, and umbrellas are available upon request for your seaside adventures.

Outdoor Fun: Enjoy lawn games provided for your entertainment, and if you’re planning to use our outdoor pizza oven, logs can be provided upon request.

HOUSEKEEPING: To ensure everything remains fresh and comfortable, a member of our team will visit each Monday and Tuesday between 2-5pm to:

– Empty trash receptacles and take garbage cans to the curb

– Bring trash cans back in on Tuesday

– Wash towels

– Freshen up bathrooms and bedrooms with light cleaning and dusting as needed 

– Clean the outdoor pool area as needed

Additional housekeeping services can be arranged for a fee. If you need anything during your stay—extra towels, toiletries, additional cleaning, or assistance with appliances—please reach out to us. We’re here to ensure your stay is exceptional.

Absolutely! We’re delighted to help arrange extra services to make your stay even more special. Whether you’d like mid-week cleaning, in-house pamper sessions, in-house catering, or grocery delivery from external suppliers, we’re here to assist. Please note that we generally require at least seven days’ notice to coordinate these services, and while we’ll do our best to accommodate your requests, availability cannot always be guaranteed.

Pizza Making Class: Master the art of pizza making using our wood-fired pizza oven.

Handmade Wood-Fired Pizza Catered Dinner: Enjoy a catered dinner featuring delicious, handmade pizzas, salads, appetizers and deserts.

Mobile Art Experiences: Engage in creative activities like Jewelry Making, Paint and Sip, Tie Dye, and more, suitable for ages 6 through adult.

We’re here to enhance your stay with personalized experiences, so don’t hesitate to reach out with any special requests!

Cancellation of a booking is considered a termination of your contract with us, and as such, we must treat your instructions to cancel your accommodation as your final decision. Once we receive your cancellation, we will immediately make the dates available for re-sale in an effort to mitigate the cost to you. However, we cannot guarantee that the dates will be re-sold, nor can we guarantee that re-sold dates will be at the same price as your original booking. We strongly urge you to consider cancellation as a last resort and suggest that you purchase holiday cancellation insurance for added peace of mind.

Firstly, please rest assured that it is extremely unusual that we will need to change your accommodation booking once we have accepted it. If however your booking is changed for any reason, we will tell you as soon as we are able. On very rare occasions, circumstances outside of our control may mean that we have to cancel your booking with us and you’ll receive a refund.

Casa Colibri del Sol is our cherished private home, and we have invested significant time, effort, and care into creating beautiful spaces for our guests to enjoy. To safeguard the property, and our personal belongings, we require a security deposit. This deposit ensures that you are aware of your responsibility for the property during your stay and that you will cover the cost of any damages should they occur.

We understand that accidents happen, and we generally do not seek compensation for minor damage—defined as breakages, damage, or extra cleaning likely to cost less than $50 to address. It’s rare for security deposits to be retained, but we do ask that you inform us or the owners of any damage so that it can be repaired before the next guests arrive.

We strive to return the security deposit within 5-7 working days after your departure, provided no issues have been reported.

Yes. Unless there are any changes or amendments to your booking (including changes in the rate of TOT), the price of your accommodation will not be subject to any surcharges once you have paid the deposit and we have accepted the booking.

Casa Colibri del Sol does not provide or require holiday insurance, but we highly recommend it for your peace of mind. A comprehensive travel insurance policy can help protect you in case you need to cancel your booking due to unforeseen circumstances, including adverse travel conditions. This coverage is especially important as neither Casa Colibri del Sol nor the Owners can be held responsible for events beyond our control that may prevent your access to the property. Additionally, we strongly advise ensuring your policy includes personal liability coverage to safeguard against any accidental damage that might occur during your stay.

MEDICAL EXEMPTION TO PETS/SERVICE ANIMALS: No pets/service animals.

We have a medical exemption due to family members who are highly allergic to pet dander – Fines & deep cleaning fees apply for any unreported pets or service animals.

Aside from being an insurance and health and safety requirement in case of emergencies, such as fire, Casa Colibri del Sol is our private home. We appreciate knowing a bit about our guests, including the full names of all adult guests and the ages of any children staying with us. This information helps us ensure that your stay is comfortable and safe.

At Casa Colibri del Sol, we warmly welcome event inquiries and are pleased to consider hosting your special occasion. To ensure that every event aligns with the character and integrity of our beloved home, particularly those involving more than 30 guests, we assess each request on a case-by-case basis. This process involves a thorough discussion of your event plans and confirmation of the necessary insurance. We encourage you to reach out to us with your event details to explore the possibilities of hosting your gathering at our property.

Friends are able to visit you in the property with prior written agreement from the owner. However, friends are not allowed to stay overnight unless they have been pre-notified to us on the property Booking Form as members of your party. This is an insurance and health & safety issue and is non-negotiable; clients will be asked to vacate a property if they do not adhere to this condition of their stay.

To ensure the safety of Casa Colibri del Sol, we kindly ask that guests refrain from bringing their own candles. We do provide candles for your use; however, it is important that you ensure they are used responsibly. Please place candles on flat, heat-resistant surfaces and never leave them unattended. Your safety and the preservation of our property are our top priorities.

We classify ‘infants’ as very young children who are not yet walking and need to be carried. Typically, children start standing and walking around 9 months old, so any child under 12 months is considered an infant. Children are classified as such up to and including the age of 15. Once they reach 18 years old, they are considered adults.
